Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jone King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Stevenson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jone King!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King with a poor takedown
and Stevenson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Stevenson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. King tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stevenson is in King's guard.
Stevenson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
King is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stevenson.
King tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stevenson was well out of range. Poor timing from King.
Stevenson shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stevenson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

King drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stevenson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stevenson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stevenson!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stevenson can do anything to dispel that myth.
King lands a big shot there that rocks Stevenson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Stevenson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by King! Submission of the night perhaps?
