PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Michael Crowne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pale Ale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Crowne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pale Ale!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ale scores with a push kick.
Crowne moves out of range of the body kick.
Ale blocks a leg kick.
Crowne takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ale walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ale misses the shot to the body.
Crowne swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big right from Ale misses.
Crowne fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ale checks it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crowne misses the shot to the body.
Ale misses with a few strikes there.
Crowne throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ale counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ale lands with an overhand left.


Crowne is rocked!
Ale throws a lazy uppercut

and Crowne counters by moving into the clinch.
Oh Crowne is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ale blocking some punches.
Crowne seems to have got his legs back now.

Crowne keeps control of Ale as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Crowne creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Ale is trying to force a seperation but Crowne has the dominant position.
Ale is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Crowne prevents Ale from breaking the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Crowne pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pale Ale will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ale throws a hook but Crowne avoids it easily.

Ale scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Crowne beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ale throws a body punch but Crowne moves out of range.

Crowne takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A clash of legs there as Crowne blocks the low kick.
Crowne lands a leg kick that knocks Ale off balance momentarily.
Ale tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crowne was well out of range. Poor timing from Ale.
Crowne swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A bone on bone clash there as Crowne blocks the leg kick.
Crowne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ale.

Ale throws a series of punches but Crowne avoids them all with ease.
Ale throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ale takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Crowne connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ale's hands.

Ale lands a jab to the head.
Ale swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Crowne lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Crowne.
Ale ducks under a wild hook from Crowne.
Crowne defending well as Ale loads up on a big left hand.
A punch combination from Ale misses.
Ale takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ale tries to land a front kick but Crowne steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Crowne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Crowne for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Crowne unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ale lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Crowne is pushing Ale up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Crowne seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Crowne tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Crowne.
Ale is looking to break free of the clinch but Crowne has double underhooks.
Crowne scores with a shot to the side of Ale's head.
Michael Crowne has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Crowne tries a body shot but Ale blocks it.
Crowne tries to work over Ale's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ale wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Crowne has him pressed against the ropes.

Ale breaks from the clinch.
Crowne blocks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pale Ale takes that one, thanks to the knockdown.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Crowne's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ale under the eye.
Michael Crowne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pale Ale seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Crowne fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ale checks it well.
Ale tries to score with a low kick but Crowne moves his leg out of the way.

Pale Ale is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Crowne is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ale.
Ale throws a leg kick that misses.
Crowne lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Pale Ale has been cut.
Ale throws a jab but it's blocked by Crowne.
Ale misses with a straight right.
Ale slips under a jab.
Crowne takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Crowne bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ale lands a jab.
Ale closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Crowne out cold! Crowne corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pale Ale!
A relieved looking Pale Ale thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
