Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Pitsenbarger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvaro Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salazar has chosen Don Omar ft Tego Calderon - Bandolero as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bill Pitsenbarger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alvaro Salazar!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitsenbarger misses with a low kick.
Pitsenbarger dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Salazar. That did some damage!
Salazar scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Pitsenbarger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pitsenbarger throws a body kick that misses.
Pitsenbarger thows a body shot but no joy.

Pitsenbarger gets caught napping as Salazar dives in and scores a takedown. Pitsenbarger manages to retain guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Salazar won't allow Pitsenbarger to get back to his feet.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Salazar is trying to work for a kimura but Pitsenbarger is defending well.

Salazar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Salazar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pitsenbarger is just riding it out for now. Salazar eventually gives up the hold.

Pitsenbarger wants to control but Salazar is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Salazar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pitsenbarger knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Salazar is stalling here. Pitsenbarger is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Salazar seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pitsenbarger has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Salazar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Pitsenbarger gets to his feet - Salazar follows without any prompting.
Pitsenbarger throws a body punch but Salazar moves out of range.
Pitsenbarger throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Pitsenbarger misses the shot to the body.

Pitsenbarger gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salazar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Salazar drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pitsenbarger dives on top into guard.

Salazar looking for a guillotine here but Pitsenbarger defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alvaro Salazar dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Salazar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pitsenbarger's waist but Pitsenbarger gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Salazar off to one side.
Pitsenbarger misses with a straight right.

Salazar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pitsenbarger was covering up waiting for the punch and Salazar finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Salazar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Pitsenbarger's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Pitsenbarger is trying to improve his position.
Alvaro Salazar has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pitsenbarger wants to control but Salazar postures up.
Pitsenbarger avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Salazar.

Salazar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pitsenbarger knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pitsenbarger on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Pitsenbarger manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Pitsenbarger keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Salazar uses his free foot to push down on Pitsenbarger's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pitsenbarger.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pitsenbarger is looking to improve his position but Salazar isn't that keen on the idea.
