Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Steve Nightat!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nightat doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Beik counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nightat's guard now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Nightat is trying to keep Beik in close.
Beik controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Beik scoring with some ground and pound.
Nightat tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beik engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Christian Beik just wasn't active enough.
Nightat throws out a powerful jab.
Nightat with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Beik shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nightat's guard.
Beik is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nightat wants to control the position but Beik says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Beik is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nightat is trying to get back to full guard.

Nightat reaches up around Beik 's neck trying to control. But Beik takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Nightat! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Nightat is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Beik celebrates the victory with the fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Christian Beik !
