Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zachery Rey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zachery Rey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Savage! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Savage misses. Savage takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rey tries a low kick but Savage avoids it. Rey throws a leg kick which misses Savage's front leg but catches the back leg as Savage tries to avoid it. Rey thumps Savage with a low kick. Savage throws a jab but it's blocked by Rey. A slapping leg kick lands for Rey.
Savage misses with an uppercut. Rey saw that one coming. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rey.
Rey moves out of range of the strikes. Savage moves out of range of the strikes. Rey throws a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Savage swings for the body but Rey moves out of range.
Rey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Savage takes one on the button. Rey tries to close the distance and clinch but Savage swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rey scores with a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rey slips a jab from Savage. Rey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Savage throws out the jab. Savage uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rey. Savage defending well as Rey loads up on a big left hand. Savage misses the body punch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Savage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Savage somewhat. Rey throws a low kick, looking for Savage's leg but Savage calmly moves out of range.

Rey does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Rey scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rey slips a jab from Savage. Savage drives through with a takedown into guard. Rey looking for a sweep. Not yet Rey, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savage loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Savage trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rey tries to get out of the position. Savage chips away with some ground and pound. Savage throwing strikes from guard but Rey blocks nicely. Savage trying to control the position from guard on top but Rey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Savage postures up in Rey's guard and throws a big left but Rey blocks it. Rey avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Savage trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Savage is looking to work some ground and pound but Rey has wrist control. Rey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Savage's corner. There ya go! There ya go! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Savage accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rey is trying to keep Savage in close.

That was a close round but I would say that Zachery Rey will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rey working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Savage. Rey wants to sweep but no luck. Savage throws a strike but Rey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Rey controls from within his opponent's guard. Savage has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rey wants to get up but he can't break Savage's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Savage keeping moving, preventing Rey from controlling successfully.

Rey checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Savage bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rey's head backwards. Rey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Savage.
Rey wants to clinch up but Savage keeps it at a distance. Savage's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Savage misses with a jab to the body
and Rey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Rey tries to score with a low kick but Savage moves his leg out of the way. Rey rushes Savage and presses him up against the cage. Rey misses with a punch on the inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rey tries to work over Savage's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Rey creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Rey misses with the head strike.
Rey throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Savage blocks it with crossed arms. Savage blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rey tries to land a knee to the head but Savage blocks with his arms.
Rey lands a good knee to the midsection. Savage won't want to take too many of those. Rey throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Savage pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Savage looking for a takedown. Savage fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Zachery Rey dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
