Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Samsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wolfgang Steuermann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steuermann has chosen Ein Prosit as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregor Samsa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wolfgang Steuermann! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Steuermann crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Samsa - the referee stops the clock and Steuermann gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Samsa. Steuermann manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Steuermann shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Samsa as he jumps to the side. Samsa tries to land a front kick but Steuermann steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Samsa chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Steuermann decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Samsa wants to improve his position but Steuermann is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Steuermann is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Samsa defends it well. Samsa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Steuermann is working away from the top position though. Steuermann seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Samsa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Steuermann is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Samsa defends it well. Steuermann is taking a breather. Samsa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Samsa is in trouble now - Steuermann has advanced to mount! Steuermann pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Steuermann lands a heavy elbow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Steuermann is landing with some decent strikes but Samsa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steuermann jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Samsa manages to avoid the submission attempt. You can see the frustration on Samsa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Steuermann. Steuermann remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Steuermann is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Samsa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Steuermann tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Steuermann trying to control the action but Samsa is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steuermann working away. Samsa is trying to buck Steuermann off. Steuermann trying to control the position but Samsa is working away. Samsa is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Steuermann tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Steuermann has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Steuermann wants to control but Samsa is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wolfgang Steuermann dominated that round. That's time! Samsa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Steuermann. Steuermann darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Samsa wants to control but Steuermann is keeping busy and won't allow it. Samsa moves into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steuermann is looking to advance position but Samsa has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Steuermann is trying desperately to improve position. Samsa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Steuermann is looking to escape. Samsa is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Steuermann to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Steuermann shrugs it off. Steuermann gets back to half guard. Wolfgang Steuermann has got the better of the ground game so far. Steuermann moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Samsa wanted to stand there but Steuermann had control of the position. Steuermann is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steuermann has his foot on Samsa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Samsa works his way back into a safe position though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Samsa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Steuermann has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Samsa has managed to get both his arms back between Steuermann's legs - danger averted. Steuermann throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Samsa is looking to stand up but Steuermann won't let him. Samsa throwing strikes but missing. Steuermann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Samsa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Steuermann is looking to sinch up a triangle. Samsa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Steuermann's body to avoid the submission. Steuermann has instead reached around Samsa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Steuermann arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Wolfgang Steuermann! Wolfgang Steuermann decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
