Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Burgess Meredith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mr Perfect !
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perfect gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Perfect looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Meredith wants a takedown.
Perfect is trying to pull guard but Meredith turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Perfect is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Meredith wants a takedown.

Meredith pulls guard.
Meredith pulls Perfect in close to his closed guard and prevents Perfect from doing any damage or advancing position.

Meredith working for a triangle but Perfect defends it easily.
Perfect really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meredith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Burgess Meredith has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Meredith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Perfect 's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Meredith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Perfect has an active guard here but Meredith has managed to pass into half guard.
Meredith tries to pass to full mount but Perfect defends it.

Meredith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Meredith is trying to work for a kimura but Perfect is defending well.
Meredith prevents Perfect from improving his position.

Meredith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Perfect doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Meredith.

Perfect is in trouble now - Meredith has advanced to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poor strikes thrown by Meredith there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Perfect tries to reverse the position but Meredith maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Meredith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Meredith looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Meredith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Meredith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Meredith is trying for a kimura here. Perfect looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Meredith wins by kimura!
