Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Moser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Johnson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Moser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moser feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnson's calf.

Moser looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Moser is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Moser advances to half guard.
Johnson trying to hold on to Moser's head to control him but Moser postures up.
Johnson is trying to stand up here but Moser is controlling him well.
Johnson wants to control but Moser is keeping busy.

Moser is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Moser to get the leverage.
Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Moser is very close to passing his half guard.

Moser jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Moser controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.

Johnson wants to control from the top but Moser keeps moving.
Moser tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moser is breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Moser lands a nice hook to Johnson's body. Johnson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Moser tries to clinch

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Moser fights it but they end up in guard.
Moser wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Moser wriggles free and stands up.
Johnson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Moser circles away.
Jeff Moser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moser scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though.
Moser with a poor takedown
and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Moser backing up. Moser nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.
Moser gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Johnson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Johnson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Moser shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Moser wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
Moser trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moser wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position.
Moser thows a big elbow that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Moser manages to get himself to full guard.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Moser is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Johnson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Moser shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Moser's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson throws a right and a left that Moser avoids nicely.
Johnson wants to clinch.
Jeff Moser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Johnson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Moser is wriggling around trying to escape.
Johnson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Moser looks a forlorn figure.
Moser is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action.
Johnson landing strikes from the mount and Moser is in trouble!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Johnson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Moser is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action.
Chris Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Johnson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Johnson scoring with strikes but Moser is staying in there.
Johnson wants to control the pace but Moser is squirming around nicely.
Johnson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Moser is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action.
Johnson prevents Moser from getting the reversal.

Johnson wants to finish this one by submission but Moser is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Johnson.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Moser bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Johnson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Moser pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard.
Moser seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Johnson is pressing down on Moser's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Moser isn't so interested in that idea.
Johnson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Chris Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Moser stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

Moser gets a clinch.
Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Moser avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Moser manages to pull guard.

Johnson stands up from Moser's guard - Johnson perhaps looking for a knockout.

Moser drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.
Moser wants to break the clinch but can't.
Johnson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moser smiles and moves away.
Jeff Moser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Johnson.

Moser drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson is trying to control the position but Moser postures up.

Moser stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Moser sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Chris Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
