Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Nexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Lanastar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jamie Lanastar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nexton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nexton throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lanastar stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lanastar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nexton.
Lanastar ducks under a wild hook from Nexton.
Nexton throws a right hand that misses

and Lanastar moves into the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lanastar creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Nexton is trying to break the clinch but Lanastar has him pressed against the cage.
Lanastar jumps guard but Nexton stands there with Lanastar around his waist. Lanastar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nexton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lanastar has him pressed against the cage.
Lanastar has Nexton pressed against the cage, preventing Nexton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A nice left hand lands by Lanastar.

It looks like Leroy Nexton has been cut.
Lanastar tries to pull guard but Nexton holds him up against the cage and eventually Lanastar drops back down to his feet.
The referee is keeping an eye on Lanastar - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Nexton can't break the clinch.
Nexton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lanastar is looking for a takedown.
Leroy Nexton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamie Lanastar.
Lanastar keeps control of Nexton as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lanastar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nexton's efforts to push away.

Lanastar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lanastar throws a jab when Nexton was well out of range.
Nexton throws a lazy uppercut
and Lanastar counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Lanastar clinches up with Nexton and pushes him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lanastar throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Nextons head.
Nexton prevents a body shot from Lanastar.
Lanastar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nexton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lanastar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nexton walks away with a smile on his face. Lanastar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lanastar moves in looking to clinch but Nexton pushes him off.
Nexton lands a nice shot that snaps Lanastar's head back.
No joy there for Nexton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nexton keeps the fight on the outside.

Nexton ducks under a wild hook from Lanastar.
Nexton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nexton.
Lanastar moves away from the strike by Nexton.
Nexton scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nexton throws a combination that misses
and Lanastar counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Nexton off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Lanastar follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Nexton was out before he hit the floor.
