Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Brandao! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Furuichi Takayuki! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandao misses with an uppercut. Takayuki scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Brandao might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Takayuki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Brandao doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takayuki. Brandao is looking to escape. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Takayuki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brandao is just riding it out for now. Takayuki eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takayuki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brandao sees it coming and defends easily. Brandao is looking to escape. Brandao is defending against the submission attempts here by Takayuki.
This has been an exciting period of action! Brandao pushes Takayuki off looking to stand but Takayuki dives back in and keeps control.
Takayuki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Takayuki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brandao is just riding it out for now. Takayuki eventually gives up the hold.

Takayuki is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brandao defends it well. Brandao wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takayuki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brandao is trying to stand.
Brandao is breathing heavily. Takayuki has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Brandao defend it? Takayuki steps over the head and cranks it - Brandao is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Takayuki!
