Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walter Netto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Blaszczykowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Walter Netto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Santiago Blaszczykowski!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Netto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blaszczykowski's waist but Blaszczykowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Netto off to one side.
Blaszczykowski throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Blaszczykowski is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Blaszczykowski connects with a body shot.

It looks like Walter Netto has been cut.

Netto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Netto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Netto looking to control but Blaszczykowski is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Netto is really struggling to control Blaszczykowski but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Netto looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You get the feeling that Blaszczykowski really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Netto lands with some strikes.

Netto is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Blaszczykowski has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Blaszczykowski is trying to stand up.
Blaszczykowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Netto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Netto sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Netto has control of Blaszczykowski's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Blaszczykowski regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Netto looking to finish with strikes here!
Netto lands a heavy elbow.

Netto gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blaszczykowski lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Blaszczykowski circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blaszczykowski swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Netto.
Blaszczykowski scores with a crisp jab that stopped Netto in his tracks.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Netto.
Netto tries for a takedown but Blaszczykowski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Walter Netto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Netto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Blaszczykowski has taken the fight to the clinch.

Blaszczykowski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Netto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Blaszczykowski lands with a hook. Netto tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Blaszczykowski lands a big head kick that sends Netto tumbling to the mat! Blaszczykowski takes a step backwards and waves Netto back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Netto is rocked!

Netto feints and as Blaszczykowski raises his hands in defense, Netto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Oh Netto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Netto is breathing heavily.
Netto missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Netto trying to control but Blaszczykowski is working from the bottom.
Netto trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Netto seems to have got his legs back now.
Blaszczykowski is looking to stand up but Netto isn't so interested in that idea.
Netto connects with a couple of short punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Netto works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Santiago Blaszczykowski will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Walter Netto's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Netto misses with a body shot.
Sloppy strikes from Blaszczykowski. Those never looked like landing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Blaszczykowski enables Netto to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blaszczykowski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Blaszczykowski wants to get back to his feet but Netto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Netto slips nicely into half guard.
Walter Netto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Netto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Blaszczykowski defends it well.

Netto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Netto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Blaszczykowski's head.
Blaszczykowski is not content to let Netto control the position.

Netto prevents Blaszczykowski from standing back up.
Netto tries to pass to full mount but Blaszczykowski defends it.

Netto is trying to work for a kimura but Blaszczykowski is defending well.

Netto wants to work for an arm triangle but Blaszczykowski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Netto has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Netto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Blaszczykowski looks a forlorn figure.

Netto working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Blaszczykowski turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Netto off and cradles Blaszczykowski's limp body as Netto celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Walter Netto!
