Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Ramos!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Hong!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong tries to clinch but Ramos is having none of it.
Ramos misses the shot to the body.

and Hong counters with a good low kick that Ramos was not able to check.
Hong looks to land a left hand but Ramos moved out of range nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Antonio Hong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ramos connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hong. Hong circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Hong connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ramos's hands.

Ramos tries to move into range but Hong moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hong scores with a sloppy right hand. Ramos should have avoided that one.


Mark Ramos's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Horrible takedown by Ramos or perhaps it was just good defense by Hong which made him look bad.
Ramos just misses with a punch to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hong looks for the body kick but Ramos saw that one coming.

Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hong as he jumps to the side.

Hong lands a left hand.
Hong misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ramos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hong swings wildly with an uppercut but Ramos uses good head movement to avoid it.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Hong.
Hong lands with a light punch inside.

Stalling in the clinch from Hong.
Hong lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hong lands a shoulder strike.
Hong lands with a right to the head.


Ramos is rocked!
Nice body punch from Hong - that landed with a thud.
Oh Ramos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hong creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Ramos with a big uppercut! Ramos tries to clinch up but Hong pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Ramos to the mat! Ramos covers up and Hong unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Antonio Hong!
