Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Emilianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emilianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Nirvana - Rape Me. Freddie Emilianenko is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Freddie Emilianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexei Karelin! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emilianenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Emilianenko connects with a crisp jab. Emilianenko gets in close and instigates a clinch. Karelin gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Karelin is trying to control the action in half guard but Emilianenko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Karelin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Emilianenko taking some punishment here, with Karelin in his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karelin thows a huge punch but Emilianenko dodges it nicely.
Karelin is stalling here. Emilianenko is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Karelin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Emilianenko has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Karelin keeps Emilianenko under control for a moment. Emilianenko trying to control the position but Karelin is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin wants to get back to his feet but Emilianenko drags him back down. Emilianenko wants to control but Karelin is keeping him busy. Emilianenko throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Emilianenko looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Karelin is avoiding damage well.
Emilianenko tries to score with some ground and pound. Karelin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Karelin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Emilianenko's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Karelin is trying to stand.
Emilianenko is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emilianenko working some strikes from top position. Emilianenko wants to control from the top but Karelin keeps moving. Karelin wants to get back to his feet but Emilianenko is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Emilianenko passes easily into side control. Nice work. Karelin is pushing Emilianenko's head away, looking to escape. Emilianenko manages to hold on to the position though. Emilianenko is looking to take a break and control but Karelin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Emilianenko swings around for an armbar but Karelin sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Emilianenko's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karelin trying to control but Emilianenko is working from the bottom. Karelin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Karelin with a nice head shot there. Karelin with a nice head shot there. Karelin stops Emilianenko from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karelin content to stall in guard here. Karelin trying to control the position from guard on top but Emilianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Karelin's corner. There ya go! There ya go! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emilianenko keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alexei Karelin will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Karelin counters with a single leg into guard. Emilianenko didn't expect that. Karelin landing with the ground and pound. Karelin throws a big right hand that misses. Karelin throws a big elbow that misses. Karelin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Karelin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Emilianenko preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin throwing strikes from guard but Emilianenko blocks nicely. Emilianenko is looking for a triangle here but Karelin uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Karelin is looking to take a break and control but Emilianenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Karelin taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karelin lands a decent elbow from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karelin fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Karelin working the body and head with strikes. Emilianenko gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Karelin throws a strike but Emilianenko avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Karelin engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Emilianenko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emilianenko throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Karelin escapes and throws Emilianenko's legs to the side, diving into side control! Karelin wants to control but Emilianenko is keeping him busy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karelin slows the pace down. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Karelin cracks Emilianenko with a big right hand but Emilianenko just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Emilianenko dodges the ground and pound from Karelin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexei Karelin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Karelin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Emilianenko! Karelin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The referee warns Emilianenko that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! BOOM! Karelin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Emilianenko is rocked! A big strike lands for Karelin! That's really hurt Emilianenko and he's turned his back - Karelin keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Karelin jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexei Karelin!
