The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circle momentarily. Crapp darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Crapp misses with a head kick.
Francis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. A control attempt from Crapp but he's now mounted! Francis controlling from the full mount. Crapp really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Francis is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Crapp throws a right and a left that Francis avoids nicely. Bob Crapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Francis avoids the head kick by Crapp.
Crapp is breathing heavily. Crapp throws a sloppy head kick and Francis moves out of range easily. Francis blocks a head kick by Crapp.
Crapp takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Francis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crapp controls Francis momentarily but Francis frees himself. Francis wants to stand but Crapp is controlling his posture from full guard. Crapp wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Francis manages to pass to side control. Crapp is looking to escape. Francis sitting and controlling from the half guard. Francis is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Francis trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Let's hope that Francis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Crapp trying to hold on to Francis's head to control him but Francis postures up.
Francis is working for a kimura but Crapp is defending it quite comfortably.
Crapp is trying to stand up here but Francis is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Francis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Francis stops Crapp from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A good leg kick by Francis. Crapp misses with a head kick.
Crapp throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Crapp drops Francis with a big left hand and mounts him. Francis is in big trouble!

It looks like Patrick Francis has been cut. Crapp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Francis is looking to escape. Francis is still on wobbly legs! Can Crapp finish him? Poor strikes thrown by Crapp there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Crapp wants to get back to his feet but Francis is holding on tight.
Francis seems to have recovered his senses. Crapp looking to control but Francis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crapp throws some wild stikes that Francis manages to avoid easily.

Francis is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Francis is squirming around, avoiding Crapp's attempts to control the action. Crapp prevents Francis from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A jab from Crapp finds it's way through Francis's defenses. Francis misses with a wild combination.
Crapp goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Crapp throws a head kick but Francis moves out of range.
Francis slips a jab from Crapp. Francis gets a takedown into half guard. Francis moves into full mount! Crapp won't be happy about that! Francis with good strikes from the mount here! Crapp tries to lock up and control but Francis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Crapp manages to regain half guard. Good work. Crapp tries to kick Francis off but Francis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Francis is breathing heavily. Francis is thwarting Crapp's attempts to control the position. Crapp is looking to stand up but Francis isn't so interested in that idea. Crapp controls Francis momentarily but Francis frees himself.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Crapp throws a sloppy head kick and Francis moves out of range easily. Francis throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Crapp on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Francis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Francis showed some decent athleticism there. Crapp wants to get back to his feet.
Francis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Francis there. Francis controlling the pace. Crapp wants to control but Francis is keeping busy and won't allow it. Francis wants to pass to mount but Crapp is defending the position. Crapp wants to control but Francis is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Francis decides to return to a standing position. Crapp throws a head kick that misses. Francis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Crapp looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Francis advances to full mount.

Crapp tries to lock up and control but Francis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Francis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Crapp's face.
Crapp is looking to get to half guard. Francis looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A left and a right from Francis both land. Nice combination. Whack! Crapp lands a heavy head kick that drops Francis. The ref tackles Crapp to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Francis was done.
