And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Persson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Persson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bama looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Persson is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Bama misses with a takedown attempt
and Persson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Persson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Persson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bama keeps working.
Persson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Persson is working for a guillotine from mount but Bama frees his head quite easily.
Persson pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Persson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bama is trying to escape the mount.

Persson get's back to his feet.
Bama bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Persson has eaten all the pies!
Persson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Persson works his way to full guard. Good work.
Persson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bama is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Persson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bama's back instead.
Will Persson go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Persson is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Bama taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Persson.
