Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Saulo Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saulo Brandao has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacquiao stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pacquiao wants it to stay on the feet.
Pacquiao swinging wildly here.
Brandao fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pacquiao throws a lazy head kick

and Brandao counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Brandao.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Brandao gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Pacquiao misses with a looping left.
Brandao throws a hook to the side of Pacquiao's head but Pacquiao sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Brandao keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pacquiao tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Brandao manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Brandao shoots for a takedown but Pacquiao saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saulo Brandao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brandao takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Pacquiao tries to clinch there but Brandao circles away.
Pacquiao swings for the body but Brandao moves out of range.
Pacquiao swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Brandao counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Brandao throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pacquiao's waist but Pacquiao gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brandao off to one side.

Brandao shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pacquiao lands with a cross.
Brandao tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pacquiao sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brandao somewhat.

Brandao fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Brandao tries to keep at a distance but Pacquiao has taken the fight into the clinch.
Brandao jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pacquiao walks away with a smile on his face. Brandao gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pacquiao misses with an uppercut. Brandao saw that one coming.
Pacquiao tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Brandao is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pacquiao sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pacquiao connects with a right hand. Brandao shakes it off.

Pacquiao gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Pacquiao lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pacquiao looks gassed!

Pacquiao is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Brandao has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pacquiao wants to stand up but Brandao is controlling the position.
Brandao gets full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brandao is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brandao manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A close round but Manny Pacquiao will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pacquiao tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Brandao shoots in but Pacquiao avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Brandao shoots for a takedown but Pacquiao saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brandao shoots in looking for a takedown. Pacquiao tries to sprawl out of it but Brandao keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pacquiao manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pacquiao drives through and clinches with Brandao against the cage.

Brandao tries to pull guard but Pacquiao won't allow it.
Pacquiao is trying to push Brandao away but Brandao has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Pacquiao tries to break the clinch but Brandao is controlling the position.

Pacquiao pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brandao drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brandao jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pacquiao has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pacquiao is trying to keep Brandao in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brandao is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Brandao thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Brandao trying to control but Pacquiao is working from the bottom.
Brandao is pushing down on Pacquiao's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pacquiao is fighting to maintain full guard but Brandao has managed to sneak the leg through.

Brandao seems to be looking for submissions.
Brandao stops Pacquiao from getting back to his feet.
Brandao wants to control but Pacquiao is keeping him busy.

Brandao is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Brandao is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pacquiao is just riding it out for now. Brandao eventually gives up the hold.

Brandao in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pacquiao tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Brandao!
