Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Experiment Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Thomason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred Thomason has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Experiment Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Thomason!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy closes the distance looking to clinch

and Thomason counters with a takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Thomason decides to stand back up.
Guy lands the left hand.


It looks like Fred Thomason has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Guy gets caught flat footed, as Thomason shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Guy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Guy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Guy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thomason defends it well.

Guy is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guy passes Thomason's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Guy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thomason knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Thomason is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Guy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Guy's back!

Thomason is looking for the choke from the back position but Guy is controlling his hands well.

Guy breaks Thomason's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Guy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thomason is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thomason has escaped and now he's on top!
Guy controls Thomason momentarily but Thomason frees himself.
Thomason loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Thomason really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thomason takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Thomason closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Guy's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guy keeping moving, preventing Thomason from controlling successfully.
Thomason is looking to work some ground and pound but Guy has wrist control.

Thomason got a little sloppy there for a moment and Guy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thomason has managed to get both his arms back between Guy's legs - danger averted.

Thomason drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomason jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Thomason stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Guy to get to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Guy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Guy tries to clinch but Thomason moves out of range.

Thomason shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Guy gets tackled into the cage by Thomason. Thomason maintains the clinch.
Thomason blocking some punches.
Guy misses with a punch on the inside.
Guy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thomason's elbow.
Thomason blocks a punch to the side of the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Guy.

Thomason manages to break the clinch.
Guy throws a jab but it's blocked by Thomason.

Thomason throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thomason is in Guy's guard.

Guy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Thomason is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Guy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Guy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A less than humble Fred Thomason misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
