Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers has chosen Californication as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Steven Park! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Powers! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers moves into the clinch. Park tries to break the clinch but Powers is controlling the position. Powers digs a right hand underneath Park's ribcage. Park let out a lung full of air as it connected. Park has a couple of punches blocked by Powers.
Park prevents a takedown attempt there.
Park wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Park is trying to break the clinch but Powers is controlling him. Powers misses with a punch to the body.
Park has had enough of the clinch but Powers keeps him there for the moment. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Park fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Park can't break the clinch.
Park scores with an uppercut up the middle. Powers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Park pulls his leg out and moves away.
Powers throws a lazy uppercut
and Park counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Powers scores with a takedown into Park's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Powers throwing strikes from guard but Park blocks nicely. Powers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers throws a big elbow that misses. Powers postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Powers is looking to work some ground and pound but Park has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Powers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Park knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Powers on the ground. Powers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Park working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Powers. Powers throws an elbow that misses. Park uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Powers's guard. Nice move by Park! Powers kicks Park off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Park throws a hook to the side of Powers's head but Powers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Park misses with an uppercut. Powers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Park as he jumps to the side. Steven Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Powers. Park keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Powers. Park throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Park tests Powers's chin there with a solid looking shot. Powers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Park. Park misses with a jab, cross combination.
Powers connects with a leg kick. Park looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Steven Park seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big right from Park misses. Powers looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A jab from Park misses. Powers ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Powers throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Powers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A swing and a miss from Park. Powers tries to close the distance and clinch but Park swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Powers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Park is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Powers is controlling him well. Powers is putting a hurting on Park here, landing some big shots from side control. Park pushes Powers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Powers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Park is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Park taking punishment in the form of punches.
Powers prevents Park from escaping the position. Sloppy strikes there by Powers. Park tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Can Park hold on?! Powers is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Powers is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Park up.
Park controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Powers dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Park misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Powers fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Park has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Park throws a lazy uppercut
and Powers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Powers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Park lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Powers fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Park looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Powers darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Powers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Park swats him away and circles back towards the center. Park swings widly with a right hand
and Powers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Powers clinches with his opponent.
A short right from Powers on the inside. Powers lands a hook to the side of the head. Powers drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Powers has Park pressed against the cage, preventing Park from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Park blocks an uppercut.
Powers throws a punch but it's blocked by Park. Park's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Park swats away the attempt to clinch by Powers. Powers slips under a jab. Park misses with a right hand and Powers counters with a straight punch to the midsection. No joy there for Park, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Park connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Powers's hands. Park is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Park lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Powers slips under a jab. Park slips a jab from Powers.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Park throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Park thows a left - swing and a miss! Powers throws a leg kick which misses Park's front leg but catches the back leg as Park tries to avoid it. A jab from Park does it's job there. Powers with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Powers scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Powers scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Park throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A big left from Powers misses. Park steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Powers. Park gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powers wants to control from the top but Park keeps moving. Powers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Park scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Powers misses with an uppercut. Jimmy Powers seems to be getting the better of the standup. Powers tries to clinch up but Park circles away and keeps his distance. Powers throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Powers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Powers takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Park scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Park thuds his right hand into Powers's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Powers defending well as Park loads up on a big left hand. Park checks a leg kick nicely. Park rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Powers counters with a nice body shot. Park takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Powers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Powers misses with a wild combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Powers chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Park takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Powers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Park loads up on a big right hand but Powers slips the punch. Powers has Park up against the cage in a clinch.
Park is defending well against a takedown attempt. Powers tries to score a body lock takedown but Park shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Park tries to break the clinch but Powers is controlling the position. Powers gets a trip takedown into half guard. Powers working the head and body with strikes. Powers looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Powers is looking to stall here but Park recovers full guard. Powers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Park works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers scoring with some ground and pound. Powers throwing strikes from guard but Park blocks nicely. Powers tries to free his leg and advance position but Park is retaining full guard. Powers engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Powers connects with a couple of short punches. Powers working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Powers throws a big right hand that misses. Powers lands a couple of decent looking shots. Powers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Powers distracts Park with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Powers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Powers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Powers has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Powers postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Powers slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Powers looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Park is avoiding damage well.
A lull in the action here. Powers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Powers looks up at the clock and then as Park takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Powers smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Powers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Park sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Jimmy Powers is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Powers controls the position. Let's hope that Powers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Park is trying to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Powers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Powers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
