Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Kazim Belcher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Guerra! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kazim Belcher shoots in for a double leg but Guerra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kazim Belcher fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Guerra throws a head kick that misses. Guerra tries a head kick but it misses.
Kazim Belcher fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Guerra to the ground. Kazim Belcher is now in Guerra's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kazim Belcher passes Guerra's left leg - he's now in half guard. Guerra moves into full guard.
Kazim Belcher is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Guerra is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Guerra has escaped and now he's on top! Guerra trying to control the position from guard on top but Kazim Belcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kazim Belcher is on top in guard.
Kazim Belcher tries to free his leg and advance position but Guerra is retaining full guard. Kazim Belcher stands and throws Guerra's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kazim Belcher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kazim Belcher trying to control the action but Guerra is working from the bottom. Guerra is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kazim Belcher looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Kazim Belcher wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Guerra, who protects the arm well. Kazim Belcher tries for a kimura but Guerra is defending well. Kazim Belcher landing a few strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Guerra is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kazim Belcher is trying to get an arm triangle but Guerra is defending well. Kazim Belcher working the head and body with strikes. Kazim Belcher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. You can see the frustration on Guerra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kazim Belcher is trying to get an arm triangle but Guerra is defending well. Kazim Belcher goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Guerra has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kazim Belcher but great work by Guerra. Guerra looking to control but instead Kazim Belcher has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kazim Belcher regains full guard. Nicely done. Guerra is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kazim Belcher has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Guerra is looking to defend but Kazim Belcher has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Guerra! Kazim Belcher pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Guerra taps out and this one is all over!
