Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Enrico Mazzarri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuroda Atsushi acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Enrico Mazzarri! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuroda Atsushi! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mazzarri misses with a body shot.
Mazzarri jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mazzarri pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. The fight stays on the outside here - Mazzarri looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Atsushi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Atsushi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mazzarri was well out of range. Poor timing from Atsushi. Atsushi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mazzarri misses with a lunging right hand
and Atsushi counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Mazzarri tries to close the distance and clinch up but Atsushi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Atsushi throws a jab but it's blocked by Mazzarri. Mazzarri throws out a loose jab but Atsushi uses good head movement to avoid it. Atsushi looks to land a body kick but Mazzarri moved away. Atsushi lands with a thumping leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Atsushi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Atsushi tries to score with some ground and pound. Mazzarri controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Mazzarri is not content to let Atsushi control the position. Mazzarri tries to bench press Atsushi off him but Atsushi keeps the position. Mazzarri parries the strikes from Atsushi easily there. Atsushi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mazzarri to escape.
Atsushi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mazzarri, who protects the arm well. Atsushi throwing shots but missing, from side control. The strikes coming from Atsushi are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mazzarri is looking to regain half guard here but Atsushi keeps moving and retains side control. Mazzarri sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mazzarri keeps working. Mazzarri regains full guard. Nicely done. Mazzarri keeping full guard, as Atsushi tries to pass. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mazzarri wants to sweep but no luck. Atsushi slips nicely into half guard. Mazzarri keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Atsushi winds up and cracks Mazzarri with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Atsushi lands a nice short elbow. Mazzarri tries to get to full guard but Atsushi has control of the leg. Mazzarri moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi trying to control but Mazzarri is working from the bottom. Mazzarri lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Atsushi! Atsushi sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Mazzarri throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Atsushi to regain full guard. Atsushi looking to control.
Mazzarri is fighting to break Atsushi's control of his arms but Atsushi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Atsushi looking for a sweep. Not yet Atsushi, not yet. Atsushi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mazzarri manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mazzarri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Atsushi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Atsushi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Atsushi preventing the sweep. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mazzarri keeping moving, preventing Atsushi from controlling successfully. Mazzarri looking for a sweep. Not yet Mazzarri, not yet. Mazzarri looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mazzarri wants to improve his position but instead Atsushi has moved into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mazzarri tries to roll over but Atsushi keeps him under control. Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mazzarri keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kuroda Atsushi dominated that round. That's time! Mazzarri's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mazzarri misses the body punch and Atsushi counters with a nice uppercut. Mazzarri cracks Atsushi with a right hand to the side of the head. Atsushi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mazzarri defends it nicely. Mazzarri slips a jab and a cross from Atsushi.
Atsushi is looking to score with low kicks. Mazzarri looks to clinch and Atsushi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Atsushi tries for a takedown but Mazzarri sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mazzarri fails in his attempt to clinch. Atsushi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mazzarri throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mazzarri feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mazzarri won't allow Atsushi to sweep him here. Mazzarri postures up in Atsushi's guard and throws a big left but Atsushi blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mazzarri accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mazzarri throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mazzarri trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Atsushi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mazzarri's guard. Atsushi tries to free his leg and advance position but Mazzarri is retaining full guard. Atsushi passes into half guard. Atsushi is looking to pass Mazzarri's guard but actually Mazzarri recovers to full guard. Mazzarri is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Atsushi is aware though and is defending well. Mazzarri escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Atsushi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Atsushi is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mazzarri keeping moving, preventing Atsushi from controlling successfully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Atsushi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Atsushi trying to control but Mazzarri is working from the bottom. Atsushi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mazzarri keeps working. Mazzarri tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mazzarri manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi prevents Mazzarri from improving his position. Mazzarri is trying to maintain the position but Atsushi is very close to passing his half guard. Atsushi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mazzarri sees it coming and defends easily. Atsushi is keen to just control but Mazzarri is a slippery customer. Mazzarri moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mazzarri has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Atsushi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mazzarri is pressing down on Atsushi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Atsushi chips away with some ground and pound. Mazzarri looking for a guillotine here but Atsushi defends easily.

A close second round but Kuroda Atsushi will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Atsushi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mazzarri as he jumps to the side. Good exchange - Atsushi coming out on top. Mazzarri shoots for a takedown but Atsushi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The fighters circling - Mazzarri throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A telegraphed right hand from Mazzarri misses the target. Enrico Mazzarri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Atsushi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mazzarri. Mazzarri misses with a hook
and Atsushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Atsushi slips a straight right by Mazzarri. Mazzarri misses with a straight left. Mazzarri clobbers Atsushi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Atsushi throws a body kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atsushi has a takedown stuffed. Atsushi gets the takedown into side control. Mazzarri tries to bench press Atsushi off him but Atsushi keeps the position. Atsushi trying to control the position but Mazzarri is working away. Mazzarri regains half guard there - taking advantage of Atsushi's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Mazzarri wants to improve his position but Atsushi is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Atsushi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mazzarri makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mazzarri. Atsushi trying to control but Mazzarri is working from the bottom. Atsushi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mazzarri is keeping the position for now. Mazzarri is looking for a triangle here but Atsushi uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mazzarri takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mazzarri is not content to let Atsushi control the position. Atsushi landing a few strikes. Atsushi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mazzarri tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mazzarri regains half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Mazzarri manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Atsushi wants to control from the top but Mazzarri keeps moving. Atsushi working some strikes from top position. Atsushi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mazzarri is keeping the position for now. Mazzarri looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atsushi scoring with punches to the head and body. Atsushi passes Mazzarri's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mazzarri manages to get to full guard.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Atsushi is looking to work some ground and pound but Mazzarri has wrist control. Mazzarri is in trouble now - Atsushi has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kuroda Atsushi really dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mazzarri throws a leg kick that misses. Atsushi looks for the body kick but Mazzarri saw that one coming. Mazzarri fails with an attempt to clinch.

Atsushi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mazzarri. Mazzarri throws a lazy right hand but Atsushi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mazzarri checks a leg kick nicely. Atsushi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Mazzarri throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A telegraphed right hand from Mazzarri misses the target. Atsushi cracks the inside of Mazzarri's front leg. The fighters circling - Mazzarri throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Atsushi throws a nice outside leg kick. Atsushi ducks under a wild hook from Mazzarri. Atsushi on the wrong end of a nice jab. Mazzarri fails with an attempt to clinch.
Atsushi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mazzarri. Mazzarri keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Atsushi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atsushi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Atsushi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mazzarri. Mazzarri looks to throw the jab but Atsushi is out of range. Mazzarri swings for the body but Atsushi moves out of range.

Atsushi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Atsushi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Mazzarri. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mazzarri. Mazzarri scores with a jab. Mazzarri tries to score a power double leg takedown but Atsushi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mazzarri somewhat. Atsushi throws out a loose jab but Mazzarri uses good head movement to avoid it. Atsushi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Atsushi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mazzarri misses the shot to the body. Mazzarri tries to clinch up. Mazzarri breaks the clinch.
Atsushi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Enrico Mazzarri will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Atsushi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mazzarri is working away from the top position though. Atsushi is controlling Mazzarri's trapped leg to prevent Mazzarri from advancing to side control. Atsushi trying to control from the bottom.

Atsushi is not content to let Mazzarri control the position. Atsushi keeps control of the position for the meantime. Mazzarri works his foot free and advances to mount. Atsushi tries to reverse the position but Mazzarri maintains control. Mazzarri trying to control but Atsushi is having none of it. Mazzarri breaks from Atsushi's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Mazzarri is landing with some decent strikes but Atsushi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mazzarri lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Atsushi is rocked! Mazzarri lands a big elbow. Atsushi is still in real trouble! Can Mazzarri finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mazzarri fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Atsushi wants to hold on but Mazzarri pushes him away. Mazzarri looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Atsushi covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
