PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Boothe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Harvath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Boothe might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tyler The Creator - Yonkers. Dirk Harvath told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Harvath lands but Boothe takes it in his stride.
Harvath throws a looping overhand right but Boothe ducks down to avoid it.
Harvath scores with a jab. Boothe acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Harvath throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Harvath tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Harvath tried to score with a low kick but Boothe checks it.
Harvath walks into a jab.

It looks like Dirk Harvath has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boothe throws a body kick that misses.
Boothe misses the shot to the body.
Dirk Harvath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boothe jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Boothe drops Harvath with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Harvath looks back up at him and smiles so Boothe waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Harvath is rocked!
Harvath avoids the head kick by Boothe.
Harvath is still on wobbly legs! Can Boothe finish him?
Boothe looks for the body kick but Harvath saw that one coming.
Boothe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harvath.
Harvath seems to have recovered his senses.
Boothe fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Harvath misses with a head kick.

Boothe scores with a jab to the head.
Harvath misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boothe on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Harvath throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Boothe feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Harvaths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

That has opened up Dirk Harvath's cut even more.
Harvath swings away with a body shot that misses

and Boothe counters with a nice right hand that sends Harvath toppling to the canvas! Harvath scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Boothe finish him?!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harvath thows a left - swing and a miss!
Boothe takes one to the chin there.
Harvath throws a leg kick but Boothe sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Harvath on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Boothe. Boothe obviously looking to wear him down.
Harvath blocks a head kick by Boothe.
Boothe misses with a low kick as Harvath jumps back.
Boothe lands with a nice body punch.
Boothe throws a series of punches but Harvath avoids them all with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harvath tries to land a leg kick but Boothe saw it coming and moves away.
Boothe cracks Harvath with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Boothe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Boothe throws a sloppy head kick and Harvath moves out of range easily.
Harvath misses with a hook to the body
and Boothe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The cut above Dirk Harvath's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Harvath throws a lazy head kick
and Boothe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Boothe fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Harvath to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Harvath looks to clinch but Boothe throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Harvath taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
