Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lhiner Combs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dale Lee! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Combs lands a leg kick that knocks Lee off balance momentarily. Combs lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lee backs up against the cage.
It looks like Dale Lee has been cut. Combs lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Combs lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lee's sensitive parts. Combs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Combs's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Combs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Combs is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee stands up over Combs, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Combs keeping full guard, as Lee tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee trying to control but Combs is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Dale Lee was stalling too much, according to the referee. Combs leaves Lee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lee tries to clinch but Combs is having none of it. Combs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Combs tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick from Combs lands but Lee takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Combs is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Combs circles away and we're back to standing. Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Combs, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Combs against the cage but Combs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lhiner Combs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Lee. Combs cracks Lee with a good jab. Combs tries to bum rush Lee with a series of wild strikes but Lee uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Combs lands a big head kick that sends Lee tumbling to the mat! Combs takes a step backwards and waves Lee back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Lee is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Combs misses with the combination.
Lee is still on wobbly legs! Can Combs finish him? Lee tries to clinch up but Combs circles away and keeps his distance. Combs lands a big right hand that sends Lee crashing to the mat! Combs stays standing though and waves Lee back to his feet! Combs circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Lee drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Combs follows Lee to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
