Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Calm Like a Bomb. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Burns! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns swinging wildly here.
Silva with a poor takedown and Burns counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Burns avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Burns is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Burns must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burns is aware though and is defending well. Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard. Burns got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burns has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Burns is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but Burns uses it to pass to side control.
Silva is trying to work for a sweep but Burns has mounted him! Burns looking to ground and pound but Silva is blocking nicely. Burns looking to finish with strikes here!
Burns thowing shots but they're missing. Burns sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Silva is trying to reverse the position but instead Burns has taken his back - oops! Silva avoids the strikes from Burns.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns is hanging on to Silva's back as he tries to escape.
Silva turns into Burns and is now in his guard.
Burns trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Burns manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Burns working for a guillotine from mount but Silva is in no mood to give up. Burns controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva is trying to escape the mount.
Silva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Silva won't allow Burns to pass to mount. Burns stands up from half guard. Silva with a lazy takedown attempt and Burns counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Silva is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Burns missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it. Burns is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Burns in particular looking to stall. Burns lands strikes from half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Burns trying to control the pace. Burns throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Burns dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Burns feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Burns changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Burns engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Silva working for submissions but it's allowed Burns to get to half guard.
Silva has a hand on Burns's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Burns takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Burns sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Burns thowing shots but they're missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Silva is in real trouble.
Lance Burns has got the better of the ground game so far. Silva turns into Burns and is now in his guard.
Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Burns looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Burns looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Burns! Burns stands up and beckons Silva to his feet. Burns closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Burns getting side control. Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Burns pulls his head out easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Burns has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Burns tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Silva manages to regain half guard. Good work. Burns is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns stands up from half guard. Silva fails with the takedown and Burns counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that. Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burns is aware though and is defending well. Burns not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Burns has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Burns pulls his head out easily. Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burns perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Burns working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Burns keeps moving and retains side control. Burns misses with the ground and pound. Burns is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Silva sneaks back into half guard. Silva looking for subs from the bottom but Burns mounts him! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Poor strikes thrown by Burns there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva avoids a series of strikes thrown by Burns.
Burns manages to capitalize on a mistake by Silva to take his back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Burns controls the action. Burns is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Burns just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Silva is keeping busy.

What can Silva do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Burns manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Burns in his guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Lance Burns comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Burns has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
