And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Barrington!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain cracks Barrington with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Tony Barrington has been cut.
Barrington looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Pain drives through with a takedown into Barrington's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.


Barrington is rocked!
Barrington keeping moving, preventing Pain from controlling successfully.
Barrington is still in real trouble! Can Pain finish him?
Barrington avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain looking to sit in guard and control but Barrington gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pain holds on and takes a little breather.

We're going to have a standup here because John Pain wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Pain shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barrington as he jumps to the side.

Pain has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pain jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barrington walks away with a smile on his face. Pain gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Barrington wants to clinch.
Barrington shoots for a takedown but Pain saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pain shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Barrington napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Barrington is not content to let Pain control the position.
Pain looks up at the clock and then as Barrington takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pain smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Pain stands up and beckons Barrington to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pain closes the distance and pushes Barrington back into the cage.
Pain working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barrington is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pain is defending well for now.
Come on Pain - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Pain jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barrington walks away with a smile on his face. Pain gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pain fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Barrington to the ground. Pain is now in Barrington's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pain clinches up with Barrington and pushes him back against the cage.
Pain wants to take the fight to the mat but Barrington manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Pain is trying to pull guard but Barrington has him pressed against the cage.
Pain misses with a body punch.
Pain tries to throw a body punch but Barrington avoids it by throwing Pain back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pain manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pain controls Barrington momentarily but Barrington frees himself.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

It looks like John Pain has been cut.

Pain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barrington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barrington wants it to stay on the feet.

Pain moves into the clinch.
Pain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Barrington pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pain shoots in for a takedown but Barrington shows good takedown defense.

Pain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Barrington tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pain avoids it.

Pain fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Pain wants to sweep but no luck.
Barrington controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pain looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barrington is one step ahead there.
Barrington missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Barrington pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pain is keeping the position for now.
Barrington won't allow Pain to get back to his feet.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Barrington wants to stand but Pain is controlling his posture from full guard.
Pain looking for a sweep. Not yet Pain, not yet.

Pain has his foot on Barrington's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barrington works his way back into a safe position though.
Pain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barrington takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pain scores with a head kick. Barrington tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Pain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Pain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Pain looks for the body kick but Barrington saw that one coming.
Barrington checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Pain closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Barrington tries to stall but Pain uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Pain is trying to break the clinch but Barrington is controlling him.
Pain has Barrington pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Barrington manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Barrington has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pain tries to score a body lock takedown but Barrington shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Pain jumps guard but Barrington stands there with Pain around his waist. Pain gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Barrington wants to stall.
Barrington with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Pain slows down the pace here.

Barrington comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Pain manages to break the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pain misses with the combination.
Pain shoots in for a double leg but Barrington sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fight stays on the outside here - Barrington looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barrington will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tony Barrington has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Pain is winning the standup battle so far.

Pain drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pain tries to get to his feet but Barrington is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Pain in his guard.

Barrington is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Pain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pain takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Horrible takedown by Pain or perhaps it was just good defense by Barrington which made him look bad.
Pain shoots for a takedown but Barrington saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pain avoids a punch combination nicely.

Pain gets tackled into the cage by Barrington. Barrington maintains the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pain looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Pain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
