Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Materson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Punch Drunk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Punch Drunk!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drunk misses with a body shot
so Materson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Materson stands and throws Drunk's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Drunk tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Materson lands some shots froms side control.
Materson grinds an elbow into Drunk's temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drunk won't allow Materson to pass to mount.
Drunk slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Drunk working for a triangle but Materson defends it easily.
Materson passes into half guard.
Materson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Materson is working for a submission of some sort.
Materson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Drunk wants to get back to full guard but Materson has passed into side control.
Drunk is trying to get back to half guard.
Materson in side control lands a decent elbow.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Drunk is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Drunk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Materson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Materson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Materson scores with punches from side control.
Materson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Materson has an Americana. Drunk didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Materson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Materson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mike Materson!
Mike Materson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that xXx - Voodoo Labs - 159++ Energy - $50 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
