Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanksack Kalazhnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wanksack Kalazhnikov! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kalazhnikov as he jumps to the side. Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Thomas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kalazhnikov keeps the fight on the outside. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kalazhnikov. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas pushes Kalazhnikov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kalazhnikov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Kalazhnikov decides to stand back up. Thomas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Thomas pushes Kalazhnikov off and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action! Thomas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kalazhnikov moves into the clinch. Thomas is looking for a takedown. Kalazhnikov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thomas shoots for a takedown but Kalazhnikov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Thomas is breathing heavily. Kalazhnikov has a takedown stuffed. John Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Kalazhnikov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kalazhnikov shoots in but no luck this time. Kalazhnikov tries to sprawl but Thomas drives through with a takedown into half guard. Kalazhnikov trying to hold on to Thomas's head to control him but Thomas postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas trying to control from half guard but Kalazhnikov is working away. Thomas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thomas prevents Kalazhnikov from improving his position. Thomas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kalazhnikov wants to improve his position but Thomas is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kalazhnikov wants to get back to full guard. Kalazhnikov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Thomas trying to control from Kalazhnikov's half guard. Kalazhnikov has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Thomas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kalazhnikov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kalazhnikov working a defensive guard here.
Thomas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas wants to control from the top but Kalazhnikov keeps moving. Kalazhnikov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Thomas trying to control but Kalazhnikov is working from the bottom. Kalazhnikov wants to get back to his feet but Thomas is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Thomas makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thomas trying to control the position from guard on top but Kalazhnikov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kalazhnikov throws his legs up looking for a submission but Thomas uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Thomas will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Thomas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kalazhnikov wants to get back to full guard. Thomas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kalazhnikov is refusing to be controlled, as Thomas sits in half guard. Thomas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kalazhnikov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thomas. John Thomas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kalazhnikov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Thomas sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kalazhnikov defending well though. Thomas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kalazhnikov defends it well.

Thomas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kalazhnikov dives on top into guard. Thomas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kalazhnikov has gone for a leg lock! Thomas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kalazhnikov's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kalazhnikov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Thomas passes easily into side control. Nice work. Thomas working away. Kalazhnikov is breathing heavily. Thomas taking a breather here. Thomas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thomas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Thomas wants to control but Kalazhnikov is keeping him busy.

Thomas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kalazhnikov keeps working. Kalazhnikov is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Thomas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kalazhnikov to his feet. Kalazhnikov gets caught napping as Thomas dives in and scores a takedown. Kalazhnikov manages to retain guard. Kalazhnikov wants to stand but Thomas is controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thomas scores with a decent looking hook. Kalazhnikov pushes Thomas up against the cage in a clinch. Kalazhnikov wants the takedown. Thomas is fighting it off but Kalazhnikov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Thomas's guard against the cage. Kalazhnikov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thomas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Thomas looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Kalazhnikov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Thomas controls Kalazhnikov momentarily but Kalazhnikov frees himself. Thomas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kalazhnikov looking to pass the guard. Kalazhnikov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kalazhnikov wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Wanksack Kalazhnikov wasn't active enough on the ground. Thomas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Thomas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kalazhnikov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kalazhnikov throws a body kick that misses. Thomas clinches. Kalazhnikov looking for a takedown. Kalazhnikov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Thomas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kalazhnikov. Thomas gets a double leg takedown into Kalazhnikov's guard. Kalazhnikov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Thomas is controlling him. Thomas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thomas trying to control the position from guard on top but Kalazhnikov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kalazhnikov's guard. Kalazhnikov pushes Thomas off and scrambles back to his feet.
No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt. Kalazhnikov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kalazhnikov off to one side. No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thomas doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kalazhnikov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Thomas tries for a takedown but Kalazhnikov circles away easily and Kalazhnikov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Thomas!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kalazhnikov stands up from mount. Strange move. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A jab from Thomas finds it's way through Kalazhnikov's defenses. Kalazhnikov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thomas but Thomas pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kalazhnikov shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Thomas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kalazhnikov clinches up against the cage. Thomas is trying to drag Kalazhnikov to the mat but Kalazhnikov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kalazhnikov pulls guard successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Wanksack Kalazhnikov. I think Thomas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
