Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Teddy Garcilazo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Horse Monstar! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcilazo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Monstar taking a bit of punishment here - Garcilazo scoring with strikes. Monstar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Garcilazo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Monstar defending well though. Monstar slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Monstar has momentary wrist control but Garcilazo slips an elbow through the middle. Garcilazo is looking to work some ground and pound but Monstar has wrist control. Garcilazo throws a big elbow that misses. Garcilazo looking to sit in guard and control but Monstar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcilazo wants to stand up but Monstar is controlling him. Monstar wants to stand but Garcilazo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Garcilazo is looking to stand up but Monstar isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Monstar misses with a double jab.
Monstar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Garcilazo to score an easy takedown into full guard. Garcilazo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Garcilazo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcilazo postures up in Monstar's guard and throws a big left but Monstar blocks it. Garcilazo looking to sit in guard and control but Monstar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Garcilazo wants to stand but Monstar is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monstar wants to stand but Garcilazo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Monstar connects with a combination that backs up Garcilazo into the cage. Monstar lands a flurry of punches that gets past Garcilazo's guard. Garcilazo is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Monstar bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Crazy Horse Monstar!
