Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Morrison is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morrison gets tackled into the cage by Orton. Orton maintains the clinch.
Morrison has had enough of the clinch but Orton keeps him there for the moment.
Morrison wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A right hook to the body lands for Orton.
Morrison looks gassed!
Orton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Morrison's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Orton has clasped his hands together around Morrison's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Orton decides to stand back up. Orton steps back and let's Morrison get back to his feet.

Orton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Morrison sprawls well initially but Orton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Orton works his way into side control.
Orton happy to just control the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Orton postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Orton controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Orton wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Morrison tries to sprawl but Orton drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Orton wants to free his trapped foot but Morrison is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Orton in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Orton wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Orton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Orton cracks Morrison with a big right hand but Morrison just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Orton stands up and beckons Morrison to his feet.

Orton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Orton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Orton is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Orton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Orton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Orton dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Orton has Morrison up against the cage in a clinch.
Morrison is trying to push Orton away but Orton has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Morrison is fighting off a takedown attempt but Orton is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Morrison to the mat. Morrison regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Orton lands a couple of elbows.
Orton showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Orton is in close to Morrison's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Morrison is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Orton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Orton is working Morrison over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Orton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Orton.

Orton gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Orton decides to pull guard.

Orton is looking to sinch up a triangle. Morrison throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Orton's body to avoid the submission. Orton has instead reached around Morrison's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Orton arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Orton!
