PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ki Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Burh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Law might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I'ma Gangsta. Mikhail Burh is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ki Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Burh!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Burh.

Law looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Burh!
Law controlling his opponent.
Burh wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burh is trapped and Law is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Law is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Burh defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Burh is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Burh tries to roll but Law sticks to his back.

Law is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Burh knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Burh for a finish.
Law has the hooks in. Burh is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Law is trying to stick to Burh's back but Burh is turning into Law. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Law's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Burh.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Burh slips nicely into half guard.
Law is trying to maintain the position but Burh is very close to passing his half guard.

Law looking for submissions off his back.

Law looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Burh pushes past his half guard into mount!
Law is breathing heavily.

Law reaches up to try and control the position but Burh seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Law rolls and tries to escape and now Burh has his back!

Burh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Law defends it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Burh wants to take a breather but Law is having none of it.
Burh seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Law is trying to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Burh throws a series of punches but Law avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ki Law will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Burh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Law stands and throws Burh's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Law thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Law throws a strike there. Burh manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

Law is working for a kimura but Burh is defending it quite comfortably.
Burh wants to improve his position but Law is controlling well.

Law is trying to control the action in half guard but Burh is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Burh makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Burh.

Burh is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Law drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Law jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Burh tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Law passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Law advances to full mount.
Law with the ground and pound from mount.
Law tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burh keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ki Law dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Burh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Law in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Burh is looking for a triangle but Law pushes his legs off easily.

Ki Law showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Law, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
