The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rod misses with a wild body shot.
Nice jab there from Rod.
Zaitsef throws a jab but it's blocked by Rod.
Zaitsef throws a shot from downtown. Rod moves away and avoids it.
Zaitsef is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rod sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Zaitsef ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Rod lands a jab.
Rod's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Zaitsef connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rod scrambles back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rod scores with the left hand. Zaitsef knows he should have avoided that one.
Zaitsef takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rod digs a good hook to Zaitsef's body.
Rod is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rod misses with an uppercut.
Rod wants to clinch
enabling Zaitsef to counter with a crisp jab.
Rod tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zaitsef was well out of range. Poor timing from Rod.
Rod moves in looking to clinch but Zaitsef pushes him off.
Rod lands with an overhand left.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rod connects with a right hand. Zaitsef shakes it off.
Rod connects with a nice looking jab.
Rod works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Oooooh!!! Rod has knocked Zaitsef down with a huge combo! Rod steps away and waves a wobbly Zaitsef back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Rod is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rod throws a jab but it's blocked by Zaitsef.
Zaitsef moves forwards but Rod connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Zaitsef is still on wobbly legs! Can Rod finish him?
Zaitsef gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Rod gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
