Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Te Guruma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guruma's entrance music is A Tear In The Open. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Te Guruma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Wilson! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guruma shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Wilson is staying active underneath Guruma, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Guruma trying to mount his opponent but Wilson defends it. Guruma stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Wilson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Guruma. Guruma throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Guruma has Wilson up against the cage in a clinch.
Guruma is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wilson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Guruma jumps guard.

Guruma isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Wilson stacks Guruma on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Wilson!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson decides to stand back up. Wilson fails with the takedown and Guruma counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wilson's guard now. Wilson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Guruma! Wilson looking to secure an arm triangle but Guruma defends it well. Guruma is looking to get to half guard. Wilson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Guruma regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Guruma. Wilson trying to mount his opponent but Guruma defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guruma gets full guard. Wilson stands and steps away. Guruma gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Guruma drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wilson taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Guruma wants to pass to mount but Wilson is defending the position. Guruma moves nicely into side control. Guruma wants to control but Wilson is keeping him busy. Guruma lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Wilson is not content to let Guruma control the position. Guruma passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Wilson! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guruma dominating with strikes here. Guruma looking to secure an arm triangle but Wilson defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guruma feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Guruma decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wilson, up you get! Guruma drives through and clinches with Wilson against the cage.

Guruma rushes Wilson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wilson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Guruma is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wilson to the mat. Wilson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Wilson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Guruma doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Guruma manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Guruma works a leg free and moves into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson wants to control but Guruma is keeping busy.
Wilson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wilson. Wilson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Guruma is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wilson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Guruma's back instead. You can see the frustration on Guruma's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Wilson cracks Guruma with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Guruma from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wilson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Guruma. Wilson wants to sweep here but Guruma controlling him for the moment. Guruma drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guruma jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Guruma pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Guruma wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving. Guruma drops back looking for a leg! Wilson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wilson manages to kick Guruma off! Guruma jumps back into Wilson's guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Guruma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Guruma wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working. Wilson seems a little lost for a moment, as Guruma dominates the positioning. Guruma cracks Wilson with a big elbow. Guruma has knee on belly and moves into mount. Guruma tries to control but Wilson wriggling away. Guruma gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Wilson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Guruma. Te Guruma overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Guruma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Guruma slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Guruma looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wilson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Guruma has just dragged him back down to the mat. Wilson can't do much from the bottom here.
