Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Bangahondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bangahondo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Juno Reactor - Hulelam. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Medina! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Bangahondo! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Medina shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nice takedown defense from Bangahondo. No joy for Medina on that attempt. Bangahondo swings away with a leg kick that misses. A momentary lapse in concentration from Medina enables Bangahondo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Medina manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Medina lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bangahondo! Bangahondo prevents any damage by holding on tight. Bangahondo tries to get back to half guard but can't. Medina wants to control the pace but Bangahondo is squirming around nicely. Bangahondo defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Medina. Bangahondo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Medina. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bangahondo can't escape the position.

Bangahondo is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bangahondo can do anything to dispel that myth. Medina looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Medina tries to control but Bangahondo wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Medina has control of Bangahondo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bangahondo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Medina jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bangahondo manages to avoid the submission attempt. Medina trying to control the action but Bangahondo is working from the bottom. Medina tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Medina tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Medina has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Medina working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Medina thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bangahondo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bangahondo wants to control but Medina is keeping him busy. Medina trying to control here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bangahondo misses with a hook. Bangahondo shoots in and bounces Medina off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Bangahondo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Medina is looking for a triangle but Bangahondo pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Medina is looking for a sweep. Bangahondo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bangahondo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Medina tries to get to full guard but Bangahondo has control of the leg. This has been an exciting period of action! Bangahondo controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Medina tries to get to full guard but Bangahondo has control of the leg. Medina is working hard here to advance position. Andrew Medina overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bangahondo wants to stand but Medina has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Medina is looking to control Bangahondo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Medina avoid being mounted? Bangahondo not landing any meaningful shots this time. Bangahondo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Gabriel Bangahondo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Bangahondo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Medina to the mat! Medina manages to get full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Medina is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bangahondo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bangahondo stays in close to Medina's body and controls the position. Medina looking to control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Medina throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Gabriel Bangahondo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Bangahondo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bangahondo tries to move into full mount but can't pass Medina's legs. Bangahondo moves into full mount! Medina working to try and regain half guard.
Medina throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Bangahondo avoids the attempt from Medina to control. Bangahondo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bangahondo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Medina tries to hold on but Bangahondo pushes him away. Medina sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Bangahondo content to control rather than advance.

He's pushed Bangahondo off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Bangahondo screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
