Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Shatto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shatto fails with the takedown.

Thomas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shatto's guard.

Thomas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thomas has control of Shatto's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Shatto regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Thomas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shatto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Thomas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shatto's back instead.
