Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KO Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cole Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, KO Kid! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kid to score an easy takedown into full guard. Burns trying to control the position.
Burns is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Burns bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kid's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns trying to control but Kid is working from the bottom. Burns won't allow Kid to get back to his feet. Burns not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Cole Burns wasn't doing enough on the ground. Burns fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kid avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kid takes one to the side of the head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kid. Kid throws a right hand that Burns ducks under and follows up with a left that Burns also avoids with ease. Burns has a takedown stuffed. Kid shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burns as he avoids it easily. Burns shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kid but Kid pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burns stuffs the takedown. Kid has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Burns.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Kid sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Burns looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kid is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kid shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Burns pinned against the cage. Burns gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. This has been an exciting period of action! Kid changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burns tries to avoid it but Kid manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burns to the ground. Burns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kid fails with an attempt to clinch.
Burns lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kid will feel that in the morning. Burns scores with a one two! Kid had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Kid is looking to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kid thows a body shot but no joy. Burns tries to clinch and Kid counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kid. Burns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kid tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kid blocking the ground and pound attempt from Burns. Burns is trying to control. Kid wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Burns is working for a kimura but Kid is defending it quite comfortably.
Kid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The fighters are battling for position here. Kid manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Burns dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kid gets tackled into the cage by Burns. Burns maintains the clinch. Burns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kid as he avoids it easily. Burns scores with a head kick.

Burns changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kid looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Burns controls the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Burns stands up and beckons Kid to his feet. Burns shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kid defends it nicely. Burns tries for a takedown but Kid circles away easily and Kid makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kid moves to clinch but Burns breaks away and Burns counters with a nice uppercut. Kid throws a series of punches but Burns avoids them all with ease. Burns moves out of range as Kid throws a body kick.
Burns takes the fight into the clinch. Burns has clasped his hands together around Kid's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Kid is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burns's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kid moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kid trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Burns preventing the sweep. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Burns wanted to stand there but Kid had control of the position. Burns stops Kid from standing up. Burns postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kid is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Burns, into his guard. Kid tries to stand but Burns is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kid gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kid shoots in looking for a takedown. Burns tries to sprawl out of it but Kid keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kid fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A decent looking cross lands there for Burns. Burns has closed the distance and engaged Kid in a clinch.

Burns thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Burns postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kid to stand up. Horrible takedown by Kid or perhaps it was just good defense by Burns which made him look bad. Kid tries to clinch but fails miserably and Burns counters with a takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Burns working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns working the head and body with strikes. Burns stands up. Kid fails with the takedown. Cole Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of KO Kid. Burns throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like KO Kid has been cut. Cole Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kid shoots in for a double leg but Burns sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kid takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Burns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kid, pushing him back against the cage. Burns is trying to pull guard but Kid turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Burns manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Burns. Cole Burns is winning the standup battle so far. Kid wants to clinch up but Burns keeps it at a distance. Burns gets caught flat footed, as Kid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Burns looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Burns looking to control.
Burns looking for a sweep. Not yet Burns, not yet. Kid is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Burns is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Burns has escaped and now he's on top! Kid doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kid keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burns postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cole Burns. Burns shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kid sprawls well. Kid wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burns gets slowly back to his feet. Kid scores a takedown into full mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Cole Burns showed his dominance in that final round. Well Burns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
