Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shoot to Thrill. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adrian Castillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mason Smith! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castillo fails with the takedown. Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
A punch combination from Castillo misses. Smith closes the distance and clinches. Castillo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Smith gets a trip takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Smith decides to stand up. Castillo connects with a body shot that sends Smith's belly button to the back. Smith wants to clinch. Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castillo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away. Castillo connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Smith gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Castillo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Castillo, up you get! Castillo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrian Castillo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Castillo, pushing him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castillo jumps guard but Smith stands there with Castillo around his waist. Castillo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Castillo throws a head kick that misses. Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Castillo circles away. Castillo tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance. Smith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Castillo misses with a straight right. Castillo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Castillo avoids a kick to the body.
Castillo fails with a takedown attempt. Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Castillo sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Castillo is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith stands up from half guard. Smith throws a right hand that Castillo ducks under and follows up with a left that Castillo also avoids with ease. Castillo tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Smith leaves Castillo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Castillo has a takedown stuffed. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Castillo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.

Castillo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mason Smith dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Castillo shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well. Adrian Castillo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Castillo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Castillo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Castillo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Castillo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mason Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.

He's pushed Castillo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Castillo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Smith fails with the takedown. Castillo tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Castillo sprawls well. Castillo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Castillo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Smith back to the cage. Castillo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Castillo shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Smith rushes Castillo and presses him up against the cage. Smith gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Castillo seems keen to control Smith's posture. Smith gets to his feet - Castillo follows without any prompting. Castillo swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Castillo has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Castillo can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Castillo looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Castillo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith gets to his feet. Castillo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Smith tries for a takedown but Castillo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Castillo scores with a shot to the body.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Castillo tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Castillo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Smith moves in looking to clinch but Castillo pushes him off. No luck with that takedown attempt from Castillo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castillo gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Castillo manages to retain guard. Castillo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Castillo is trying to keep Smith in close.
Smith gets to his feet - Castillo follows without any prompting. Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Smith scores a takedown into full mount! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Smith avoids the attempt from Castillo to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Mason Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Smith winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
