Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kade Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edgar has chosen Undead as his entrance music. The key to victory for Gerard Scott has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gerard Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kade Edgar!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Edgar as Scott shoots in.
Gerard Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Edgar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scott shoots in looking for a takedown but Edgar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Scott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Edgar has a takedown stuffed.
Edgar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Scott throws a series of punches but Edgar avoids them all with ease.
Edgar shoots in for a double leg but Scott sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Edgar is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Scott is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Scott has escaped and now he's on top!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Edgar has a closed guard, preventing Scott from standing up.
Edgar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Edgar wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.

Edgar postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Scott to stand up.
Scott keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Edgar is defended easily by Scott.

Scott shoots in and drives through. Edgar sprawls well.

Scott shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Edgar manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Edgar is retaining full guard.
Scott is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Edgar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Edgar is working an open guard so Scott takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gerard Scott will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Edgar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Scott or perhaps it was just good defense by Edgar which made him look bad.
Scott tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Edgar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Scott stuffs the takedown attempt from Edgar. Edgar gets slowly back to his feet.

Edgar is breathing heavily.

Scott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Edgar circles away.
A clash of legs there as Edgar blocks the low kick.
Edgar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Edgar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Scott moves into the clinch.
Scott jumps guard but Edgar stands there with Scott around his waist. Scott gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Edgar tightens his grip and picks Scott up, before dumping him to the ground. Scott manages to land in guard.

Scott has his foot on Edgar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edgar works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott is controlling Edgar's posture.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edgar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scott is trying to control the action in half guard but Edgar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Edgar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Edgar is in trouble now - Scott has advanced to mount!
Scott controlling the pace for now.
Scott wants to control the pace but Edgar is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scott punching from mount but Edgar doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Gerard Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Scott is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Edgar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Edgar shrugs it off.

Scott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Edgar is fending him off so far but Scott persists. Nope, Edgar circles away and we're back to standing.

Scott closes the distance and pushes Edgar back into the cage.
Edgar has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Scott throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Edgar blocks it with crossed arms.
Edgar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Scott takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Edgar wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Scott stalling against the cage.
Edgar is looking to break free of the clinch but Scott has double underhooks.

Edgar has Scott pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Edgar pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Scott tumbling to the mat - Edgar dives into Scott's guard.

Scott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gerard Scott is winning the standup battle so far.
Scott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Edgar but Edgar pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Scott jumps guard and drags Edgar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Scott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Scott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Scott pushes Edgar up against the cage in a clinch.
Scott has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Edgar after a bit of a struggle.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gerard Scott showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Scott has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
