Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earl Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aj Matador!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris misses with a double jab.
Earl Morris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morris connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Matador momentarily.
Morris misses with a few strikes there.
Morris throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Matador.
Matador gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Morris counters with a crisp one two that drops Matador! Morris thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Matador to his feet! Matador is in big trouble!


Matador is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Morris misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Matador is still on wobbly legs! Can Morris finish him?
Morris throws a series of punches but Matador avoids them all with ease.
Morris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Matador.
Morris misses with a double jab.
Morris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Matador circles away quickly and effectively.
Matador seems to have recovered his senses.

Matador scores with a takedown into Morris's guard.

Matador postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Morris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Matador, into his guard.

Matador is looking for a triangle but Morris pushes his legs off easily.
Morris looking to sit in guard and control but Matador gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Morris keeping moving, preventing Matador from controlling successfully.

Matador would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Morris has momentary wrist control but Matador slips an elbow through the middle.

A lull in the action here as Matador stalls from top position.

Matador working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Morris sneaks back into half guard.
Matador is pressing down on Morris's thigh, looking to free his foot. Morris is holding on for now.
Morris on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Morris tries to get out of the position.
Morris is trying to get back to full guard.

Morris missing with punches from the bottom.
Matador trying to control the action but Morris is working from the bottom.
Morris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matador on the ground.
Morris is controlling Matador's trapped leg to prevent Matador from advancing to side control.
Morris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matador is working away from the top position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Morris is looking to improve his position.

Matador is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Earl Morris will probably get the nod.
That's time! Morris's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Matador fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Morris. Those never looked like landing.
Morris throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Matador shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Morris pinned against the cage. Morris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morris misses with a few strikes there.
Matador shoots for a double leg takedown but Morris sprawls well. He's pushed Matador's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Morris fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Matador misses with an attempted mid kick.
Morris tries to bum rush Matador with a series of wild strikes but Matador uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Matador counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Morris breaks from the clinch.
Morris pivots, looking for a leg kick but Matador is out of range and Morris settles back down.
Morris misses with a two punch combination.
Morris throws a right and a left that both miss.
Matador dodges the punch combination from Morris.
Matador throws a head kick that misses.
Morris throws a series of punches but Matador moves out of range.
Matador shoots in looking for a takedown. Morris tries to sprawl out of it but Matador keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Earl Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aj Matador.
Matador moves out of range of the strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matador is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Morris.
Morris throws a right and a left that both miss.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morris rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matador moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No joy there for Morris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Morris throws a right hand that Matador ducks under and follows up with a left that Matador also avoids with ease.

Matador dives in and scores a takedown into Morris's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Matador is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Matador trying to control the position from guard on top but Morris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Matador is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aj Matador hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Matador misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice takedown defense from Morris. No joy for Matador on that attempt.

Morris scores with the left hand. Matador knows he should have avoided that one.

Oooooh!!! Morris has knocked Matador down with a huge combo! Morris steps away and waves a wobbly Matador back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morris looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Morris swinging wildly here.
Morris feints with a jab and clips Matador right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Matador is sent crashing into the canvas and Morris leaps in for the kill! Matador tries to get to his feet but Morris is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Matador is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Earl Morris!
