Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Romero Jacare!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manuel Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ellis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jacare avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ellis pushes Jacare up against the cage in a clinch.
Jacare gets underhooks to prevent Ellis's takedown attempt.
Jacare is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ellis is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jacare is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ellis to the mat. Ellis regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacare sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ellis's guard.

Ellis pushes Jacare off looking to stand but Jacare dives back in and keeps control.
Ellis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacare. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ellis can do anything to dispel that myth.
