Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kunta Kinte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis has chosen Superbeast - Rob Zombie as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kunta Kinte has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kunta Kinte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulo Reis! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reis darts in and clinches Kinte up against the ropes. Reis tries to throw a body punch but Kinte avoids it by throwing Reis back against the cage. Reis wants the takedown. Kinte is fighting it off but Reis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kinte's guard against the ropes. Kinte being controlled here, momentarily. Reis trying to control the position from guard on top but Kinte is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kinte can't keep his opponent in guard - Reis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Reis wants to pass the guard but Kinte is defending well. Reis uses his free foot to push down on Kinte's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kinte. Reis scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Kinte really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Kinte keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Reis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kinte is looking to escape. Kinte is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kinte turns into him and now he's in Reis's guard.
Kinte drops back looking for a leg! Reis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reis manages to kick Kinte off! Kinte jumps back into Reis's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reis is on top in guard.
Kinte working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reis looking to pass the guard. Kinte trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reis wants to control from the top but Kinte keeps moving. Kinte throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Kinte is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reis is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kinte is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Reis pulls his head out easily. Reis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kinte keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kinte is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kinte tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reis swivels and escapes. Excellent takedown into side control there by Reis. Kinte takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kinte avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Reis. Reis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kinte, who protects the arm well. Kinte gets back to half guard. Reis wants to free his trapped foot but Kinte is holding on for dear life with his legs. Reis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Reis looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reis tries to pass to full mount but Kinte defends it. Kinte trying to control but Reis postures up.
Kinte is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Reis pulls his head out easily. Kinte might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Reis is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Reis swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kinte is now in Reis's guard. A big mistake from Reis there, giving up the dominant position! Kinte advances to half guard. Kinte is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Reis is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kunta Kinte!
