The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mckinly tries to throw a body punch but Smiith avoids it by throwing Mckinly back against the cage.
Smiith is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mckinly is defending well.

Smiith tightens his grip and picks Mckinly up, before dumping him to the ground. Mckinly manages to land in guard.
Smiith works over Mckinly with some ground and pound from guard.
Mckinly keeping full guard, as Smiith tries to pass.
Mckinly keeping moving, preventing Smiith from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smiith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mckinly trying to keep a closed guard but Smiith is proving a slippery customer.
Smiith sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mckinly's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smiith looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Smiith passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The strikes coming from Smiith are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Mckinly wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Mckinly takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Smiith lands a strong strike to the head of Mckinly. That's dazed him! Smiith looking to finish here. Mckinly is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Smiith lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
