Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roy Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Rixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Rixon! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rixon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martinez as he avoids it easily. Martinez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rixon has his foot on Martinez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martinez works his way back into a safe position though. Martinez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rixon wants to sweep here but Martinez controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rixon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martinez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Martinez stopping the sweep attempt from Rixon. Rixon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martinez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rixon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martinez has managed to get both his arms back between Rixon's legs - danger averted. Martinez trying to control but Rixon is working from the bottom. Rixon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Martinez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rixon is trying to control the position but Martinez postures up. Martinez wanted to stand there but Rixon had control of the position. Martinez looking to sit in guard and control but Rixon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martinez keeping moving, preventing Rixon from controlling successfully. Martinez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rixon on the ground. Martinez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rixon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rixon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Martinez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rixon trying to control the position from guard on top but Martinez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martinez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rixon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rixon throws a big elbow that misses. Rixon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rixon's corner is telling him to maintain position. Martinez looking to control.
Rixon wanted to stand there but Martinez had control of the position. Martinez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Martinez tries to get out of the position. Martinez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Martinez is breathing heavily. Rixon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paul Rixon wasn't active enough on the ground. Martinez misses with a takedown attempt and Rixon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rixon prevents Martinez from standing back up.
Martinez wants to improve his position but Rixon is controlling well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rixon passes the guard and advances to mount! Rixon is working for a guillotine from mount but Martinez frees his head quite easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rixon controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Rixon dominated that round. That's time! Martinez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rixon wants to clinch. Martinez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Roy Martinez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Martinez closes the distance and clinches. Martinez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rixon just stands there and leans against the cage. Martinez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Martinez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Martinez dives in and scores a takedown into Rixon's guard. Rixon looking for a sweep. Not yet Rixon, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rixon is trying to control the position but Martinez postures up. Rixon trying to control the position here. Martinez wants to stand but Rixon has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rixon pulls Martinez in close to prevent any damage.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Paul Rixon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Martinez wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rixon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Martinez sprawls well. Martinez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rixon gets slowly back to his feet. Martinez shoots in and gets a takedown into Rixon's guard. Martinez's corner is telling him to maintain position. Martinez postures up.
Martinez being controlled here momentarily. Rixon wants to sweep here but Martinez controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Martinez wants to control from the top but Rixon keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roy Martinez. Rixon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Roy Martinez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rixon. Martinez drives through with a takedown into Rixon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Martinez trying to control the position from guard on top but Rixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rixon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martinez manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martinez keeping moving, preventing Rixon from controlling successfully. Rixon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Rixon advances to half guard. Rixon controlling the pace. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Martinez is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Martinez dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Rixon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Martinez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rixon has just dragged him back down to the mat. Martinez parries the strikes from Rixon easily there. Rixon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Martinez to escape.
Rixon moves into full mount! Rixon punishing his opponent with strikes. Rixon trying to control but Martinez is having none of it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rixon raining down shots from the mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rixon punching from mount but Martinez doing a good job of avoiding damage. Martinez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rixon lands a nice shot to the head. Rixon lands a big elbow. Rixon controlling from mount. Rixon looking to control but Martinez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martinez is trying desperately to improve position. Rixon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Rixon tries to control but Martinez wriggling away. Martinez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rixon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rixon lands with some strikes. Rixon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Rixon is landing with some decent strikes but Martinez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Rixon content just to control the position here. Rixon goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Martinez is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rixon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Paul Rixon has got the better of the ground game so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Martinez wants to control but Rixon is keeping busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rixon is keen to just control but Martinez is a slippery customer. Martinez wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Rixon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rixon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
