Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Riggins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brutus Achilles! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggins is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Achilles dives in and grabs Riggins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Riggins pushes down on Achilles's head and hops out. Riggins moves in looking to clinch but Achilles pushes him off. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Riggins tries to clinch but Achilles moves out of range. Riggins has closed the distance and engaged Achilles in a clinch.
Riggins wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Riggins misses with a knee strike.
Achilles turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Achilles manages to end up in side control. The ground and pound from Achilles seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Riggins is pushing Achilles's head away, looking to escape. Achilles manages to hold on to the position though. Achilles sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Riggins is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Riggins is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Achilles has just dragged him back down to the mat. Riggins gets back to half guard. Achilles lands strikes from half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Riggins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Achilles is working away from the top position though.

Achilles turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Riggins is trying to buck Achilles off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Achilles is trying to get an arm triangle but Riggins is defending well. Riggins is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Achilles with the ground and pound but Riggins regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Achilles not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Achilles scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Brutus Achilles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riggins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Achilles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Riggins tries to close the distance and clinch but Achilles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Achilles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Achilles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Riggins is not content to let Achilles control the position. Brutus Achilles has got the better of the ground game so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Achilles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rob Riggins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brutus Achilles. Riggins tries to clinch up but Achilles circles away and keeps his distance. Achilles shoots in but Riggins avoids the takedown attempt easily. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riggins throws a strike but Achilles rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Riggins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Brutus Achilles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Achilles winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
