Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Gardener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shogun Chua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gardener has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gardener scores with an uppercut up the middle. Come on Gardener - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Gardener seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Gardener pulls Chua into guard.
Gardener is trying to control the position but Chua postures up. Chua trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chua won't allow Gardener to get back to his feet. Gardener is pulling down on Chua's head to control his posture. Chua drops back looking for a leg! Gardener is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gardener manages to kick Chua off! Chua jumps back into Gardener's guard. Chua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gardener swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gardener working a defensive guard here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Gardener scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chua is looking for a sweep. Chua is not content to let Gardener control the position. Chua is looking to reverse the position. Chua manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gardener's best efforts. Chua looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Chua regains full guard. Nicely done. Chua looking for a guillotine here but Gardener defends easily.
Chua working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gardener doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gardener manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Chua looks gassed! Gardener is looking to work some ground and pound but Chua has wrist control.

Gardener wants to pass the guard but Chua is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gardener won't allow Chua to sweep him here. Chua keeping moving, preventing Gardener from controlling successfully. Gardener sitting in guard here, content to control. Gardener lands a couple of digs. Gardener wants to control from the top but Chua keeps moving.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gardener closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chua tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Gardener has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Chua keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gardener controlling from mount. Chua can't escape the position.
Chua is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Chua regains half guard. Chua is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gardener pulls his head out easily. Chua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Chua is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gardener pulls his head out easily. Chua gets full guard. Chua had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gardener is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chua Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gardener's back instead. Chua is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Gardener with him. Gardener is trying to defend but Chua has an arm under the chin now! Gardener grimaces and is forced to tap out!
