Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Sakkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bettar Thanu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakkinen comes to the ring accompanied by Rotten Sound - Burden. Mikko Sakkinen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bettar Thanu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Sakkinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bettar Thanu!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thanu wants to clinch but Sakkinen slips to the side

and Sakkinen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sakkinen tries to free his leg and advance position but Thanu is retaining full guard.
Sakkinen passes Thanu's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sakkinen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thanu knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Sakkinen seems to be looking for submissions.
Sakkinen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thanu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Thanu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sakkinen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sakkinen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Thanu is looking to escape.

Sakkinen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Thanu manages to avoid the submission attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sakkinen is working for takedown but Thanu is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sakkinen looks to land a strike but Thanu avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Thanu tries to land a knee to the head but Sakkinen blocks with his arms.

Thanu creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Sakkinen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Thanu tries to land knees in the clinch but Sakkinen avoids the damage to the body.

Sakkinen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Thanu regains guard immediately.
Thanu wants to stand but Sakkinen is controlling the position.
