Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carey Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Vey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carey Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Vey!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez gets caught flat footed, as Vey shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Vey has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanchez is proving hard to escape from.
Vey wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
Vey looking to pass the guard.

Vey drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sanchez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sanchez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sanchez!
The strikes coming from Sanchez are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vey tries to buck Sanchez off but Sanchez is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez decides to stand back up. Sanchez steps back and let's Vey get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Vey is arching his back trying to strike from the bottom but Sanchez turns him over and now has his back.
Sanchez has the hooks in. Vey is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sanchez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vey tries to land a front kick but Sanchez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vey is on top in guard.

Vey feints and as Sanchez raises his hands in defense, Vey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vey as he jumps to the side.

Sanchez is pressed up against the cage. Vey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sanchez down to the mat. Sanchez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sanchez.

Vey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vey lands in his opponent's guard.
Vey wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
Vey passes into half guard.
Vey wants to control but Sanchez is keeping him busy.
Sanchez gets back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sanchez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

John Vey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
