Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doblez Mundo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Suzuki! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mundo stuffs the takedown attempt from Suzuki. Suzuki gets slowly back to his feet. Mundo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Suzuki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mundo avoids it really well and circles away. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mundo!
It looks like George Suzuki has been cut. Suzuki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mundo tries to avoid it but Suzuki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mundo to the ground. Mundo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Doblez Mundo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Suzuki. Nice body punch from Mundo. Suzuki misses with a two punch combination.
Mundo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Suzuki throws a series of punches but Mundo moves out of range. Mundo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Suzuki closes the distance and clinches up with Mundo, looking for a takedown. Suzuki pushes Mundo against the cage but Mundo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mundo scores with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mundo cracks a nice hook into Suzuki's ribs. Mundo looks for the body kick but Suzuki saw that one coming. Suzuki misses with the combination.
Suzuki looks gassed! Suzuki blocks a head kick by Mundo.
Left hook, right uppercut from Mundo. Suzuki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mundo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mundo works over Suzuki's head and body with a nice combination. Suzuki throws a right hand that Mundo ducks under and follows up with a left that Mundo also avoids with ease. Suzuki blocks a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suzuki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mundo's waist but Mundo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suzuki off to one side. Mundo tries to score with a low kick but Suzuki moves his leg out of the way. A nice combination there by Mundo.

Mundo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Suzuki doesn't seem bothered though. Mundo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Suzuki back to the cage. Mundo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Mundo throws a push kick but Suzuki slaps the foot to one side. Suzuki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Suzuki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mundo throws a solid leg kick but Suzuki takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mundo. Mundo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Mundo is working the combinations to good effect here. Suzuki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mundo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mundo throwing short punches from the bottom. Suzuki showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suzuki stopping the sweep attempt from Mundo. Suzuki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mundo is keeping the position for now. Suzuki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. George Suzuki wasn't active enough on the ground. Mundo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Suzuki fails to land with a series of punches.

Suzuki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mundo sprawls well. Mundo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Suzuki gets slowly back to his feet. Mundo lands with a shot to the body. Suzuki feints and as Mundo raises his hands in defense, Suzuki changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Suzuki stays in close to Mundo's body and controls the position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Suzuki sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mundo's guard. Suzuki is thwarting Mundo's attempts to control the position. Suzuki wants to pass the guard but Mundo is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mundo is in trouble now - Suzuki has advanced to mount! Suzuki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mundo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Suzuki sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mundo is working to get back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Doblez Mundo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on George Suzuki's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

Suzuki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mundo on his heels. He'll look to pass Mundo's guard now, I'm sure. Mundo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
George Suzuki has got the better of the ground game so far. Suzuki wants to control from the top but Mundo keeps moving. Suzuki won't allow Mundo to get back to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Suzuki's corner is telling him to maintain position. Suzuki preventing the sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Suzuki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

George Suzuki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Suzuki shoots in but Mundo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mundo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Suzuki doesn't seem bothered though. Mundo gets caught napping as Suzuki dives in and scores a takedown. Mundo manages to retain guard. Mundo looking for a sweep. Not yet Mundo, not yet. Suzuki is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Suzuki is pushing down on Mundo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mundo is fighting to maintain full guard but Suzuki has managed to sneak the leg through. Suzuki not doing much here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. George Suzuki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Mundo scores with a body shot.

Doblez Mundo is winning the standup battle so far. Suzuki throws a right and a left that both miss. Suzuki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mundo as he jumps to the side. Mundo looks to land a combination. Suzuki sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mundo throws a solid leg kick but Suzuki takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mundo. Suzuki shoots in but no luck this time. Suzuki avoids the head kick by Mundo.
Suzuki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mundo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Suzuki slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Suzuki works to advance to full mount. Mundo defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Suzuki controlling from mount. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Suzuki's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Suzuki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on George Suzuki's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Suzuki looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Suzuki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mundo on his heels. He'll look to pass Mundo's guard now, I'm sure. Mundo is trying to control the position but Suzuki postures up. Suzuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Mundo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mundo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Suzuki can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mundo keeping full guard, as Suzuki tries to pass. Mundo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Suzuki controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Suzuki has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mundo wants to sweep but no luck. Suzuki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Suzuki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Mundo misses with a head kick.

Mundo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mundo scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
And that's the end of the fight! George Suzuki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Suzuki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
