PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Saxon Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Izabella Trumble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Harris might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Doom. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Saxon Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Izabella Trumble!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trumble throws a leg kick which misses Harris's front leg but catches the back leg as Harris tries to avoid it.

Harris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Trumble to the ground. Harris is now in Trumble's guard.
Harris has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Trumble manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Trumble in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The referee warns Harris that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Trumble working for a guillotine from mount but Harris is in no mood to give up.

Trumble jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Harris is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Harris and Trumble has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Trumble tries for a kimura but Harris is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Harris is rocked!

Trumble looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Oh Harris is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Harris wants to control but Trumble postures up.
Harris is breathing heavily.
Trumble tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Trumble scores with punches from side control.

Trumble thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Trumble tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trumble has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Trumble wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Harris, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris tries to buck Trumble off but Trumble is having none of it.
Trumble working away.

Trumble thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Harris managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Trumble.
Trumble lands some shots froms side control.
Trumble cracks Harris with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Trumble is working to tighten is grip on Harris's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Harris has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Trumble is really squeezing tight and eventually Harris passes out! Trumble breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
