With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Rossi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thor God of Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

God of Thunder closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - God of Thunder lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Rossi keeping moving, preventing God of Thunder from controlling successfully.
God of Thunder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
God of Thunder won't allow Rossi to sweep him here.

Rossi is pushing down on God of Thunder's leg trying to pass to half guard. God of Thunder is fighting to maintain full guard but Rossi has managed to sneak the leg through.

Rossi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rossi is taking a breather. God of Thunder says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rossi is working for a submission of some sort.
Rossi wants to free his trapped foot but God of Thunder is holding on for dear life with his legs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rossi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and God of Thunder defends it well.

Rossi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so God of Thunder is just riding it out for now. Rossi eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rossi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for God of Thunder!

Rossi has control of God of Thunder's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and God of Thunder regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Hugo Rossi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rossi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
God of Thunder is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
God of Thunder is trying to escape the mount.
God of Thunder tries to hold on but Rossi postures up.

Rossi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now God of Thunder is on top in guard.
God of Thunder looking to sit in guard and control but Rossi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rossi postures up in God of Thunder's guard and throws a big left but God of Thunder blocks it.
God of Thunder wants to stand and escape but Rossi is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rossi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as God of Thunder works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rossi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
God of Thunder keeping full guard, as Rossi tries to pass.
Rossi is working hard here to advance position.

God of Thunder throws a few punches from the bottom. Rossi seems unphased and he's got hold of a leg now - he's dropped back for a heel hook! He's got it! This fight is aaaaaaaaaall over!
