The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy throws a lazy head kick
and Silva counters with a series of strikes. McCarthy will be more careful next time no doubt.
McCarthy tries to land a front kick but Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick by McCarthy misses
and Silva counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ryan McCarthy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Ryan McCarthy will probably get the nod.

and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but McCarthy circles away.
McCarthy lands a brutal head kick. Silva looks out on his feet and McCarthy throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
