Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sniper Rifle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruno Marx! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marx throws a head kick that Rifle semi-blocks.
Marx lands a front kick. Marx throws a head kick but Rifle moves out of range.
Marx walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rifle checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Rifle blocks a head kick by Marx.
Rifle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marx to the mat! Marx manages to get full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marx is looking to stand up but Rifle isn't so interested in that idea. Rifle stands up over Marx, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Rifle throws a big right hand that misses. Rifle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rifle won't allow Marx to get back to his feet. Rifle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rifle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rifle working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Rifle prevents Marx from getting back to his feet. Rifle scoring with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marx wants to stand but Rifle is controlling the position. Marx is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Marx really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rifle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rifle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rifle keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Marx's head. Marx trying to control the position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rifle is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rifle drops back looking for a leg! Marx is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Marx manages to kick Rifle off! Rifle jumps back into Marx's guard. Rifle is in close to Marx's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Marx has momentary wrist control but Rifle slips an elbow through the middle. Rifle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rifle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Marx being controlled here, momentarily. Rifle postures up and lands a big shot to Marx's brow. Rifle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Marx's guard. Rifle working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rifle seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Marx pushes Rifle off looking to stand but Rifle dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marx taking some punishment here, with Rifle in his half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marx can do anything to dispel that myth. Rifle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Marx!

Rifle unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Marx wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Rifle celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
